Dilnawaz Kapadia (Dil) has a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA, and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of California at Berkeley, CA. She received her American Montessori Society Early Childhood Education Credential from the Montessori Institute of Advanced Studies in Castro Valley along with her American Montessori Society Elementary I Credential. She has been a classroom teacher since 2017 and started at VMS in 2020.

With her deep dedication, unwavering commitment, and strong relationships within our community, Dil moved into the role of Director of Elementary and Middle School at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. In doing so she continues to serve our families by extending her leadership to support our broader school community from 1st - 8th grade.  She believes that in partnering with families we can cultivate a thriving, supportive learning community where every child can truly belong.

Dil is also the Assistant Director of the Montessori Institute of Advanced Studies in Castro Valley. She lives in Livermore with her husband and three daughters, all Montessori children. When she is not in the classroom, she loves going on long walks on the beach or hiking with family.
