Development Coordinator:
The Development Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and project support for the school’s development office. This position supports the Director of Advancement in achieving the school’s fundraising and engagement goals through administrative and organizational tasks coordinating development projects, database management, and customer relations communicating with parents, alumni and other donors.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, efficient and able to manage multiple priorities. This position reports directly to the Director of Advancement. This is a full-time in-office position. We hope to find the best-fit applicant who can begin at VMS in early January, if not sooner.
Job Function Details:

Administrative & Department Support:

Provide administrative support to the Director of Advancement.

Maintain records in the database on donations and gift acknowledgements.

Conduct donor and prospect research, update records, and generate basic reports.

Help coordinate event logistics with the school’s event coordinator for development events.

Maintain donor confidentiality at all times.
Event Support:
-
Collaborate with the Events and Volunteer Coordinator on planning and executing fundraising and development events.

Manage logistics for development events, invitations, RSVPs, and follow-up.

Assist in staffing events, may occasionally include evenings or a weekend day.
Development Support:

Assist with mailings, correspondence, and donor acknowledgment letters.

Ensure timely recording of donations and maintain accurate gift records.

Support departmental communications and outreach initiatives.

Assist with identifying and soliciting prospects for donations, fundraisers, and special events.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
-
Minimum 2 years experience in development and independent school or related nonprofit field.

Familiarity with fundraising databases such as Network for Good or other CRM.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.

Strong organizational, communication and writing skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.

Detail oriented with excellent follow-through.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Commitment to Montessori Philosophy.
Preferred:
-
Grant research and/or writing experience.
-
Experience working in a nonprofit organization.
