Director of Advancement

Joy Murphy is our Director of Advancement leading our Marketing, Communications and Development Initiatives. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing with a minor in Public Relations from the State University of New York, Geneseo. Prior to joining VMS in 2015, Joy worked in the banking industry in various capacities including Regional Training Manager, designing and facilitating employee development programs. She also served as a Business Manager for a premier online retailer managing sales and marketing, while supporting local schools in fundraising including as Gala Chair.

Joy manages the school website and oversees our social media content and the internal and external communications for the school. In leading our marketing and development efforts, Joy works closely with our program directors to highlight the VMS experience, and with the admissions and development teams to grow visibility, engagement and financial support for the school along with an understanding of the Montessori philosophy.
